XPages Workshop Summary
The XPages workshop will introduce developers to the new XPages design element and how it is revolutionizing Web and Client development for Lotus Notes. XPages has moved Lotus to Web 2.0 by utilizing web standards such as DOJO javascript library and Java Server
Faces. The intricacies of the technology have been simplified, allowing developers to easily extend XPages and its benefits to Lotus Notes/Domino applications. In this hands-on workshop, we will deploy a web application to the browser and the Notes client,
without code duplication.
The majority of the workshop will be hands-on labs to facilitate XPages comprehension, covering the highlights of Xpages development in the new Domino designer. During the workshop, developers will create a Contact List application in which they will learn

- Create custom controls
- Bind Notes document and Notes View to a XPage
- Create ServerSide Javascript utilizing @functions
- Use client-side and server-side validation
- Configure server-side and client-side validation at the server and application level

- Dojo Rich Text Field
- View Pager options
- Style Sheets: Add and maintain classes

- Deploy XPages to web and Notes Client applications

At the end of the workshop, attendees will understand how to implement and utilize XPages within their own applications. Additionally, they will
take away the Contact List application for code snippets and reference.
